In this article, I’ve written “Can Coding Bots Write Poetry?” one will learn if a coding bot can write a pure form of poetry, be it free verse, acrostic, cinquain, haiku, etc..
So furthermore, “Can Coding Bots Write Poetry?” I have to start with how I found out about coding & poetry. Back in October of 2017, the data team at Automattic approached me. They inquired if I was willing to participate in a scientific experiment. If I was ready to expose my poetry, I’ve written over the last year to a coding bot. I was skeptical at first, so I researched on the internet the company Automattic, only to find they are the data team that built WordPress.com. Read more about them below.
Who is Automattic?
We are the people behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Jetpack, Simplenote, Longreads, VaultPress, Akismet, Gravatar, Polldaddy, Cloudup, and more. We believe in making the web a better place.
We’re a distributed company with 671 Automatticians in 60 countries speaking 79 different languages. Our common goal is to democratize publishing so that anyone with a story can tell it, regardless of income, gender, politics, language, or where they live in the world. We believe in Open Source and the vast majority of our work is available under the GPL.
I got excited and inquired how I could be of help, and honored that Automattic chose the poetry from my poetry blog “Wolff Poetry.” What an opportunity? I knew a little something about coding since I dabble a little in it myself. But to help understand what coding data bot is, I grabbed some info from WhatIs.com to answer this question for you
What is a coding data bot?
In programming, code (noun) is a term used for both the statements written in a particular programming language – the source code, and a term for the source code after it has been processed by a compiler and made ready to run in the computer – the object code. (WhatIs.com and TechTarget)
The data team said they would let me know as soon as the scientific experiment finished and of the finding results. This morning, I received the email I had been waiting for for so long.
What an intriguing idea? To have a data coding bot read poetry, and furthermore, if it could and if you are curious to know if coding bots can read poetry; follow this link here to learn the results (Can coding bots write poetry?) I’m not going to spill the beans here. But the results were terrific.
Hope this article find you all have a wonderful blessed Friday! Have a fantastic weekend too!
