Free Verse Poem Strength in Numbers

Free Verse Poem Silent Death & Strength

In, “Free Verse Poem Silent Death & Strength,” I find myself at the crossroads of life, of love.

In, Free Verse Poem Silent Death & Strength, here I know of the heartaches of building relationships only to see them crumble. I see what is and what isn’t. I experience only in hopes of something lasting forever or not at all. But, one thing I have found is I must surround myself with those who allow me to find myself for all that I am. In this poem, I am giving an example of expressing my thoughts to a special someone whom I would like it to be a “forever”, but, I am not certain he sees it in the same light as I do.

Free Verse Poem Silent Death & Strength

I could call you.
But I chose to let you marinate in
our exchange of words.

This rain, this morning I feel
drowning in pain fed to a drain.
Our silence.

The cadaver smell from bones of us
again I forage

you know, I’m not always crazy
but sometimes

the casualty in us is surrealistic
it’s there, or it’s not.
still, the rotting, the sting of the knife in my heart

Still waiting for pools of red to bleed out.
you have these ways of killing me softly
and don’t know it.

Patterns and Expectations Image

Patterns and Expectations – Free Verse

Patterns and Expectations – Free Verse

“If acceptance isn’t a mindset,/then communication comes to a halt,” I ponder in “Patterns and Expectations” a philosophy of mind over matter, control is the soul who believes in oneself. All the while, waiting for another to think of likemindedness. But it’s not possible to force another to be like them. Each of us an individual, a spectacular entity of life. Each a blossom of seeds spilling color upon humanity. A woman accepts that have non-expectations of where love will go, finds love at her feet.

Patterns and Expectations – Free Verse Poetry

Lacking knowledge, I assume without knowing.
Who you’re internal, to look up into the gray sky,
answers move swiftly as the clouds do,
shaken with thunder, they fall silent.

Likes tears on cheekbones, striking the surface of my mind.
Separate from the source, scattered of questions.

Is it for the scarcity of time,
the expectations patterned through once day or night.

Breaths left upon swirls of the mist of change.
Of cloud shifting of formation collecting thoughts.

That I edge myself closer, again, to your heart? Of no expectations.
No patterns but acceptance are lacking knowledge; I accept the answers.
I accept you.

Under the Roses - Free Verse Image

Under the Roses Free Verse

Under the Roses –  Free Verse

“If you don’t let go,/it will bury your heart,” I warn in “Under the Roses” a depiction of a world of depression, patterned by predictable set moments and words that bury love. The push away and pull apart of insecurities. A man fights within himself to control the urges of manipulation through his experience of his mother, then his living ex-girlfriends haunting him from one to the next.

Under the Roses - Free Verse Image

Free Verse Poetry: “Under the Roses.”

I picture him always alone, unhappy, never at peace with himself.
In restless breathes. Deep, then shallow. The missing contentment.
Secluded, curtains pulled, shadows hold his thoughts.

Other visions— the laughter, light as air.
Him wallowing in self-pity, patterned expectations have fallen short.

Or the itinerant odor of rotten food and dishes in a sink.
My heart aches whenever I carry a conversation or text with him.
What holds more sadness, these tears or knowing I have tried to help and I can’t.

Introverted his capacity remains constant as the darkness, dark or light.
The ailing heart, a loss of love gone wrong.

Lying under the roses falling to sleep.

I grimace and fight the emptiness again.
Near this phone, where roses erupted fragrance and laughter rang.
Where I accept this moment and you suffer from pailing rocks upon your chest.

Image of quote expectations

Quote Expectations

Quote Expectations

In this Quote Expectations. I’m going to indulge on words, relationships, and expectations. It’s clear that one can sabotage their own relationship with a potential life partner. I’m not a marriage counselor or a therapist. I’m actually in an experimental stage of my own relationship. Lately, I have set the bar too high in expectations of my relationship with my boyfriend. And, this was completely wrong of me.

In this site, I’m going to reveal myself in the raw, and real of true emotions. I am not afraid of what others opinions are of me. I totally love whom I’ve become in my imperfections and perfections. There is no ONE who can judge me except for myself.

I have come to accept the beautiful soul of whom I’ve become. Most of you who follow me, know I bare honesty and integrity in my true life experiences shared through my poetry and stories.

I was fantasizing about living together. Or marriage. Granted, we have been seeing each other for awhile. Yet, I did something that almost pushed him away for good. I talked about my expectations to him. Thus, creating this standard he must follow. Over time, I literally pushed him away, cause he felt he couldn’t meet my needs. He couldn’t handle the pressure.

We all move in different circles. Some of us at a faster pace. Some slower. Words cut deep to the soul, and I made my love feel inadequate. I felt horrible when he poured his feelings to me. I sincerely apologized for my actions and begged him to forgive me.

Quote Expectations

Love explicitly.
Love without expectations or doubt.
Listen to your heart, no matter the price.
No matter the price.

©Linda J. Wolff, “Quote Expectations.

Quote expectations are the series of pieces titled after meditative deep thinking of true-self, I’ve begun in the last 24 months as I have struggled to manage the loss of too many deaths in this time frame. In this post specifically, I have embraced the duality of Self I’ve experienced: loss/in grief, not/in pain, love/as part, how I perform myself in mother/girlfriend role and endure.
