Free Verse Step Beyond

Free Verse Step Beyond

One’s true-self protects,/strength is in reaching deep.” I indulge in perception in this “Free Verse Step Beyond.” There are days when one feels lost from themselves.  A world revolves around one’s being. I see this in others, it’s like their body stands in front you, embracing a smile that is forced. Pretending, everything is fine with them. But, you look into their eyes, and the eyes speak truths.

I saw this in my sweetheart today, I am observant of body language. It speaks loudly to me. My sweetheart’s body was rigid and tense. Under a false smile, he displays everything is fine when it is not. But, I do not ask if he is ok. Then, I would put him in the position of feeling threatened.

One’s true-self protects, endures, and heals. I can see this in him. Thus, I impel a kiss upon lips as if all is well, transformation takes place of his limbs. Muscles become relaxed for there is no judgment from me, but to offer all my love.

Free Verse Step Beyond

We are of two people.

I pendulate between radiating beauty and interchanging places; thrashing
about with sleeplessness.

I craved the logic in you, desperate to absorb
the bloom of mind, body symbolism under your shirt,
teal whirlpool of silken thread, I long to scrawl like a spider.

Don’t lose baring; this is what makes you step beyond
the pools of tomorrow in an ocean of currents.

A brutal learning in letting go of yesterday;
letting you wretched on steps, your body whole,
you don’t need my limbs; you are moistening lids marking forgiveness of self.

What is a Free Verse Poetry? Typically, free verse is patterned by speech rather than a meter. Further, this form of poetry is very open to the author’s discretion and usually does not rhyme. Such as, visual and sound effects are often employed.  It can have as many lines as the writer wishes.
