In, “Free Verse Poem New Rain,” letting tears flow is like the rain.
In, Free Verse Poem New Rain, I write about the release. I live in a city that never sleeps, and like my mind, it never rests. Being a single mom I am in constant demand. Morning rushes to get to school, errands, choir practice. Etc. Etc. Etc. Sometimes the pressure piles up like dark clouds in a sky. Then it is inevitable that the rain will fall. I am sure there are a few of you who can relate to these words and this poem. Hoping this finds you all ready for the holidays!
Free Verse Poem New Rain
Rain drowns concrete and asphalt, sounds like a trillion Yesses,
trying to tell me to move the blood within veins.
Yes is the insistence of pounding rain.
When blue turns dark gray like a closed dark room processing pictures. Yes.
When the saturation seeps five layers deep of clothing. Yes.
When you know poison lies within the brown glass and it breaks. Yes.
When the clouds rise to the sky over a swampland. Yes.
If I lack the flames, rain comes, comes to wash away the debris of the brain.
Comes to clean the atmosphere of the mind.
Bones lighten. Muscles ignite themselves. Skin rejuvenates itself like a new rosebud.
Me and my winter coat— walk in the freshness.
Inspired by rain.
