Free Verse Poem Air and Skin

In, “Free Verse Poem Air and Skin,” to inhale, then exhale slowly, freely is to feel life move from the mind to the outside existence.

In, “Free Verse Poem Air and Skin,” when I start becoming overwhelmed with life, with the day to day challenges and I find myself getting emotional. It’s time for a reality check; it’s time for a break of the strain and stress of my mind. I step back and take time to feel everything. Like right now, take a look at the picture. For me, I close my eyes and try to imagine the feel of rain falling upon my skin, at first, it feels cold against the warmth of my body. Then, the air as it moves upon the surface of my face. Imagine the feel of the petals beneath your fingertips. Do feel the grain or direction, do you feel the softness, how tender and articulate it is.

It’s incredible just taking just a few minutes to explore these small movements, and how calming there are to my mind. I challenge you today, to stop where you are right now and close your eyes and feel the sense of the room or place you are at the moment if you can. Let the thoughts drain from your mind, breathe them into the air. Soft, slow breathes. I hope that it helps you feel refreshed or exhilarated. It gives the day a whole new perspective.

Free Verse Poem Air and Skin

To feel— Is to allow the movement of life,
in every sense of direction & reaction.

The texture of air across the skin,
the wetness of rain
in the expression and experience of pain.
